New Chapter Recruits multiple Account Executives across the UK on an exclusive basis for long-term client E. & J. Gallo

The Challenge

E. & J. Gallo Winery is the world's largest family-owned winery and the largest exporter of Californian wine. Due to an existing relationship with a senior member of the sales team, we were briefed on a new project. The challenge was to recruit a number of Barefoot Account Executives to launch experiential marketing activity and drive the sales of the Barefoot Wine brand in the UK market.

The New Chapter Solution

Following previous success in recruiting a Key Account Manager role across the wider brand portfolio, we decided to take a retained approach to sourcing, assessing and selecting candidates for various Barefoot Account Executive positions. We advised and then gained agreement to run a branded advertising campaign, generating huge buzz about the brand and these positions. We combined this with strategic networking and the use of social media sites to generate our candidate shortlists. All suitable candidates were sent a candidate information pack giving them details about the Barefoot brand, the company and the role being recruited for. This significantly helped to engage candidates into the process and brand experience of E. & J. Gallo.

Of key importance was the cultural fit of the candidate to the E. & J. Gallo brand. We therefore competency interviewed all candidates at first stage and presented E. & J. Gallo with full candidate reports on each individual outlining key skills and fit to the role, as well as their reasons for being interested in the role.

Initially the brief was for three areas; North West, London and the Midlands. However, due to the strength of candidates on the shortlist an additional role was created in the North West.

The Results

Following the placement of multiple candidates, and their subsequent excellent performance, we have since recruited for similar roles in London and the Midlands utilising the same successful recruitment methodology. We continue to work with E. & J. Gallo on an exclusive basis for all their Sales and Marketing needs.
