Stores Controller and Maintenance Planner

New Chapter are currently supporting a much-loved global brand in the search for an Stores Controller and Maintenance Planner, Reporting directly into the Engineering Manager you will be shaping the future of maintenance strategy and making sure that assets are looked after or optimum performance.

The stores controller/ maintenance planner on site will generate, coordinate and monitor effective planning for engineering activities carried out on site. This role will implement and coordinate best practice inventory management systems and processes and deliver the customer service levels and budgetary control.

Delivery of an effective planning cycle within a reactive environment

Delivery of an effective engineering stores environment to ensure parts availability at optimised costs.   

In this role the key responsibilities will include:


  • Delivery of Inventory Management Plan in line with Excellence roadmap and site plan.
  • Day to day managament of the stores goods in and goods out operation.
  • Complete regular cycle counts and full stock counts in line with the ME roadmap.
  • Optimise engineering stock holding in line with inventory management plan and ME roadmap.
  • Improve part descriptions in line with UK standard naming format.
  • Update and monitor the material codes for all materials on site.
  • Control minimum and maximim order points with Engineering team.
  • Attach relevant documentation to each part record including food safe records and data sheets, ensuring the relevant data is up to date.
  • Purchase request information and accuracy.
  • Ensure associated costs are allocated to correct assets.
  • Administration of the CMMS system
  • Generation of weekly CMMS plan
  • Track completion rates against plan
  • Prioritisation of safety and mandatory tasks
  • Participate in site planning meetings with forecast future maintenance activities/actions.
  • Prioritisation of backlog corrective work through functional reviews
  • Support and develop reliability centred maintenance (RCM) studies and outputs.
  • ISupport the operations team in planning asset care.
  • Planning activities to be aligned with site criticality matrix.
  • Ensure quotes are received and orders raised and approved prior to activity.
  • Contribute to the BM Manufacturing strategy and best practice via Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering Road Map.
  • Support the Engineering Manager to deliver technical and production capability in blow moulding.
  • Actively participate in identifying and implementing initiatives to improve the overall cost performance and efficiency of the Supply Chain

  • Experience of stores CMMS
  • Experience of ERP system
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of software packages
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Engineering parts knowledge
  • Stores/inventory management
