This is the Contract Laboratory division of a larger toiletry, pharmaceutical and household organisation. This business was set up to fill a niche for a contract laboratory with superior customer service. They provide testing (raw materials and finished product), method development, validation and stability services to a range of customers across branded pharmaceuticals, specials, generics and fine chemicals. They’re in a strong growth phase at the moment and due to a recent departure, they require a new Managing Director to take them to the next level.

The required candidate will have extensive commercial experience in either a technical or pharmaceutical environment, they must also be a strong leader with a high level of gravitas. You will have experience of creating and delivering strategies making sure they are implemented in the best possible way. Developing and coaching team members is also a key attribute required for success in this role. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of people including a Lab Manager and their team, a Business Development Manager and a QA team of two.

Your experience will be from a contract laboratory, pharma or medical background. You must possess a commercial mind and be able to demonstrate successful strategies you’ve implemented previously. You must have P&L experience of managing a business unit and excellent leadership skills.
