Job Description

The word exciting is used a lot in job advertisements. Too much. Far too much. It should be saved for jobs like this.

Despite its young age, this company won big listings with major supermarkets. It has a really clear picture of where it wants to be, and from humble beginnings, it has made key appointments in recent years to help it achieve this ambition - experienced people who have torn up the rulebook in the Finance department, in the Sales department and in the Marketing department to help propel the business to the next level. The final piece of the puzzle is the Supply Chain department. We're looking to appoint that person now.

We want someone to come in and look at the big picture. With a 7 figure spend on supply chain and logistics last year, you'll recognise how to streamline some of these costs, including looking at warehousing, inbound logistics, repacking and onward distribution. Maybe its tweaks that are needed, maybe you need to implement totally new ways of doing things. Regardless, this is yours to do what you will, and your actions will play a major part in the next phase of the company's growth.

You'll manage a small team, but given the size of the business (it maintains the feel of a start-up, despite its growing size), you'll still roll up your sleeves and be hands-on in all areas of the supply chain.

This role would suit someone who has significant supply chain experience in the food industry, incorporating both hands-on and strategic aspects. Experience of importing from Europe is essential, as is demonstrable success in managing and developing a small team. You need to be excited by the idea of making this department your own! If you've helped to grow a small-medium sized company previously, all the better.

Whilst we would like to respond to all our on-line applicants, regrettably we are unable to do so due to the high volumes we receive. If you've not heard from us within two weeks, unfortunately on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.
