Job Description

GRADUATES. See yourself in sales but you want to build relationships rather than just performing transaction after meaningless transaction? Want a real job but don't want to be put in a graduate scheme box? If the answer is yes to both of these, read on.

Our client supplies food ingredients that ultimately go into the ready meals, the soft drinks, the sauces, the desserts and all the other products that sit on the shelves of your local supermarket. With a long-standing history, the company is undergoing a period of major expansion, and as a result of this, we are looking for 2 Graduate Account Managers to work from the state of the art site in West Yorkshire.

After undergoing an extensive training programme, during which time you will spend time at the company's other UK sites to learn all about the products and procedures, you will return to Leeds and be supported by senior members of the sales team to manage a handful of existing accounts - specifically, manufacturers of food and drink products across the UK. As you get to grips with this, you'll be given more independence, ultimately holding full responsibility for these customers whilst also hunting new business opportunities.

As you need to build strong face to face relationships with your customer base, you'll typically be in the office 2-3 days a week, and on the road to visit customers 2-3 days a week. Many of the projects that you will work on with your customers take months to come to completion, so great listening skills and a consultative approach is required, along with strong influencing skills.

To be considered for these vacancies, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- A good degree

- Excellent communication skills

- Versatility

- The ability to work in what can be a pressurised environment

In addition, you'll need your own vehicle and a clean driving licence (you'll then claim back mileage, plus any travel expenses such as hotels, meals etc, whilst you're on the road).

IF YOU ARE CAREER DRIVEN AND ENJOY WORKING IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS NOT STRUCTURED, WHERE YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN DESTINY, IN A POSITION THAT HAS EXCELLENT LONG-TERM CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, THEN WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Whilst we would like to respond to all our on-line applicants, regrettably we are unable to do so due to the high volumes we receive. If you've not heard from us within two weeks, unfortunately on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.
