My Client is a premium food business, focused on the chocolate, ice-cream and biscuit markets. They are recognized for their quality ingredients, innovative manufacturing and timeless packaging. They work with customers such as Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis as well as their own standalone stores and concessions. They are an international brand and have an opening to join their Belgium based team.

They are seeking a Global R&D Commercialisation Manager who would be reporting directly into the Global Head of R&D, this role would be responsible for the development and management of the companies commercialisation activities related to NPD and Quality improvements. This includes development of new products within the company and its manufacturing partners. Starting with concept and overseeing right throught to commercialised finished product to sell into market.

Role requirements:

  • Plan and conduct proof of principle and commercialisation trials at suppliers, co-manufacturers and within the factories.
  • Establish improved and effective ways of working with Global cross functional partners to ensure excellence.
  • To manage, motivate and develop reports (maximum of 3) and members of the wider team so individual and team performance excels target expectation.
  • Forecast and manage costs via monthly budgeting.
  • Partner with category heads, consumer insights and chefs to create a luxury and differentiated consumer preferred product portfolio.
  • Along other day to day expectations and responsibilities

Candidate requirements:

Masters/Degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry.

  • 7 years of relevant experience - New Product Development and Project Management.
  • Work within the Food industry - Chocolate experience needed.
  • French and English speaking.
  • Factual mindset needed.
  • Independent working style and Autonomous management style.
  • Ability to learn and share expertise, as well as adapting to change quickly.
