A great opportunity has arisen for an established and experienced FMCG Leader to grow European Market share, primarily across the UK and Germany for one of the USA’s largest and most successful family/employee owned Sports Nutrition/Protein Bar businesses. Reporting to the US based Global Head of Sales, The European Director is responsible for leading the expansion of company brands in Europe.  While available in 18 markets, the brand is at its early stage in development.  The short-term focus is to build an operating structure across sales, marketing and logistics. The medium and long-term goal is to build the company’s leadership in the nutrition bar category and expand our operations in Europe, with a primary focus in UK and German Grocery & Pharmacy (drugstore) accounts – experience in these market sectors is a must.

In addition to a dedicated team, this leader will manage a distributor network throughout Europe to implement strategies that will establish and grow the brand.  Given the “start-up” nature of this expansion, you will not only lead a team but be expected to have hands-on involvement in building retailer relationships to grow Clif Bar’s presence.  As such, this leader will exhibit a combination of strong problem-solving, results-orientation, entrepreneurism and an ability to create structure and process to lead the team.

Based out of Amsterdam you will be given full autonomy across sales within the European Market, with the ability to further grow your own team over time. You’ll be rewarded with a base salary reflective of the seniority of this position and with highly generous bonus and benefits package including a company share scheme.

You might currently be a General Manager, European or EMEA Director, Sales/Commercial Director etc etc? Perhaps you have had great success in developing a branded food business throughout the region? Maybe you have worked as part of a larger team in a major blue chip and significantly helped develop sales within Europe?
