Engineering Manager

Location: Scunthorpe

 

 

New Chapter are currently supporting a loved brand in food industry recruit an Engineering Manager for their site in Scunthorpe.

To succeed in this role, you should be an engineering manager who is keen on leading from the front and getting stuck into a reactive life, dedicated to change and be able to demonstrate the values of a engineering manager committed to change.

Key points for this role:
Direct Reports: 6
Indirect Reports: 20
Maintenance Budget: £1.5 Million per Annum
Reactive Maintenance state – committed to changing to a planned maintenance structure
Current machinery on site going through a large refurb.
CAPEX budget – to be signed off for next year.

The role of Engineering Manager will be as follows:

  • To develop, mentor and lead an established team of engineers.
  • Develop the maintenance strategy to become a planned maintenance environment vs its current reactive state.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement using models to improve the reliability of assets.
  • Ensure all data is correctly recorded and reported to conform with audits and PPMs, using a function CMMS database.
  • Manage 3rd party contractors, putting in place expected working standards for work to be completed.
  • Assist the project teams with short and long-term projects, providing engineering technical expertise.
  • Look at ways to reduce cost across the site, driving root cause analysis.
  • Manage the team by KPIs and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Work closely with technical, production, hygiene and H&S to establish strong relationships.

Experience & background required for the role of Engineering Manager:

  • Experienced Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Head of Engineering, Head of Maintenance or related role.
  • You must have worked in an engineering, manufacturing or FMCG related environment.
  • You must possess a relevant Engineering qualification.
