Engineering Maintenance Team Leader ( Shift Based)

 Location: Shropshire TF9

 Salary: Competitive + Bonus

Shift: 4 on 4 off Days/Nights Rotating.

New Chapter are currently supporting a much-loved global brand in the search for a Maintenance Team Leader. Reporting directly into the dedicated Maintenance manager on site you will be shaping the future of this business by looking after the engineering teams, adhering to maintenance plans and making sure PPM work is carried out  to improve OEE on site.

Naturally, you will be a quick thinker and able to adapt to a reactive environment and be able to prioritise task for your team.

 Key responsibilities within this role include:


* To ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

* To develop and coach the Maintenance Engineering team.

* To drive a culture mindset of Continuous Improvement within the Maintenance team.

* To ensure that all planned works are completed on time and to within the quality requirements for the task.

* To ensure that all team members work safely and comply with all site H&S procedures and legislation.

* To ensure that all activity is managed via SAP or other CMMS or manual systems.

* To work with the Engineering Stores department to ensure that all required parts are available, through use of the SAP and parts booking out procedures.

* Ensure Maintenance Engineering team use the correct tools to effectively and efficiently resolve breakdown faults, if called upon to do so.

* Responsibility for team of 3 to 6 Maintenance Technicians.

* Training and development of team.

* Disciplinary / Grievance & Absence Management support.

* Good Communications - in relation to day to day requirements, hand over information, business updates.

* Recognition of high performance.

* Ensure that all members of team have a clear personal development plan in place and enable plans to mature.

* Develop a team working culture across day and shift teams with no boundaries and multi- skilling.

* Actively lead regarding PM compliance and breakdown actions.

* Develop partnership with Operations team to enable delivery of shared manufacturing objectives.

* Actively support all activities in relation to the Reliability Programme.

* Ensure equipment is maintained to operate safely.

* To optimise spend through delivery of availability and efficient filling lines.

* Energy focused to optimise delivery of annual targets and develop related initiatives.

* Develop improved PM schedules that give a more cost-effective maintenance service.

* Delivery of line and factory efficiency targets.

* Delivery of PM targets.

* Manage absence for team.

* Ensure training compliance.


Skills and Experience:


* Possesses knowledge in areas of: Filling and Process technology.

* Demonstrable knowledge of complex fast-moving clean environments (24/7- short life products).

* Strong technical bias and has experience in standardising processes and practices.

* Has excellent analytical, planning and organising skills.

* Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.

* Excellent knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and condition monitoring.

* Good communication skills.

* Team building skills and strong ability to work cross functionally.

* Strong Engineering background

* BTEC level 3 (ONC).

* Relevant knowledge and experience in a similar role.

* HNC / HND level.

* IOSH qualification.  (Can be trained).
