Job Description

Engineering Maintenance Manager – Days

 Location: Shropshire TF9

 Salary: Competitive + Bonus

Shift: Days Based.


New Chapter are currently supporting a much-loved global brand in the search for a Maintenance Manager. Reporting directly into the Engineering manager on site you will be shaping the future of this business by looking after the engineering teams, adhering to maintenance plans and making sure PPM work is carried out  to improve OEE on site all while adhering to budgets set by group level. It’s the next step up from a maintenance team leader and the bridge to the Engineering Manager role that’s ahead of you.

 Key responsibilities within this role include:

 

* All maintenance contracts for all equipment within area of responsibility.

* All HACCP & associated schedules.

* Control and implementation of service and repair processes.

* Day to day management of in-house and third party resource as necessary.

* Ensure that all relevant equipment is regularly inspected to conform to current Health & Safety legislation and that up to date documentary evidence is available to support this.

* Ensure the SAP Maintenance Module is being used effectively to administer the planned maintenance regime within area of responsibility.  

* Provide Key Performance Indicators to demonstrate maintenance performance and improvements.

* Manage the maintenance budget within area of responsibility.

* Construct and manage a rolling 12 month upgrade programme based on asset condition, performance and business criticality. 

* Work with Operations Management to confirm the priority lines.

* Carry out line condition surveys and determine the equipment for attention.

* Specify the overall scope of the work and the specific unit / component upgrade.

* Incorporate the appropriate PPM routines as part of the overall workscope via SAP.

* Work with Planners to package the work and quantify / define the resources.

* Determine root cause of failure modes and identify "design out" opportunities to prolong life and improve performance (as opposed to replacing units or components on a like for like basis).

* Package the work into duration windows, typically of 3 to 7 days.

* Use condition surveys to amend PPM frequencies and content. 

* Maintain regular daily contact with the Engineering shift and other Engineering resource and provide support and assistance as required according to the Production priorities.

* Maintain regular daily contact with the Manufacturing Leaders and be fully aware of the production status (actual vs. plan).  Ensuring production log books and Engineers log books are read daily. * Implement maintenance best practice in all relevant areas.

* Develop and sustain ongoing relationships with key suppliers and ensure cost savings are maximised.

* Carry out individual performance related assessments at agreed intervals for directly reportable personnel.

* Accountable for on time delivery of all reliability works within your area of responsibility and the service of your team.
