Business Development Manager – Pharma (In Licencing)

Based anywhere in the UK

c. £60,000 basic, 10% bonus, pension, healthcare etc

This organisation have the backing of a wider group and operate within the prescription medicine sector. They have a huge market share in the area that they operate, supplying over 65% of the UK with this product. They’re a non corporate, high autonomy business that all take responsibility for their own individual roles and how they feed into the wider team. They currently supply to over 30 countries, however, they’re looking to expand their offering further by recruiting a Business Development Manager.

This role sits within their Portfolio and Business Development area of this organisation which plays an intrinsic part of their growth strategy by seeking opportunities for portfolio development, contract manufacture and/or development partnerships.

You will be responsible for liaising with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Pharmacovigilance, quality and Operations to propose new opportunities and licencing opportunities.

You will develop a business development ‘wish list’ to actively identify new products that will build value for this organisation and the patients which they support. You will build and utilise an external network that will create new business opportunities across the following: -

  • In-licencing new products for the UK portfolio – As finished dose or technology transfer
  • Where appropriate out-licencing of assets to commercial partners in defined territories
  • Securing contract manufacturing agreements – working with internal colleagues to manage the technical process.

You must have pharma/medical device experience and exposure to in-licencing is pivotal to success in this role. Experience of working across a variety of different deal structures would be beneficial too including straight distribution, outright purchase, license and supply. There is an element of flexibility on where the successful candidate could be based, however, a head office presence is required a couple of days per week.
